The TRICARE Services staff has the mission to provide outstanding medical care. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Clinic services include family practice, flight medicine, pediatrics, mental health/family advocacy and dental. Also provided are a laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, allergy/immunotherapy and a health and wellness center at Freedom Hall. As F. E. Warren has no emergency room, customers must call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room (locally, proceed to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, 214 East 23rd Street).

Family Advocacy, located in Building 160, is designed to prevent and treat issues of family violence. Services include, but are not limited to, assessment of all reported cases of child abuse and spouse abuse and referrals to appropriate community resources on and off the base. There are services for families needing parenting help, couples’ communication and new parent support services. For more information on any programs offered by Family Advocacy, call 773-4228.
The Mental Health Clinic, located in Building 160, counsels active duty, retirees, DoD civilians and their families on family and work issues and refers appropriate on- and off-base programs. For more information call 773-2998.
Cheyenne and the surrounding area have several medical facilities with nationally-recognized specialists and a health care community committed to providing the best care available.
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is one of the state’s largest hospitals, providing care for people throughout southeastern Wyoming. It offers the latest in medical technology and operates from two separate facilities, known as CRMC West and CRMC East. CRMC also operates a Level-II trauma center (emergency room).
Cheyenne has a large Veterans Administration facility that provides primary and secondary inpatient services in medicine and surgery as well as outpatient services in medicine, surgery and psychiatry. The Medical Center also supports a 50-bed nursing home care unit located within the main hospital building. The medical center provides health services to a veteran population service area containing approximately 42,000 veterans. Tertiary care, such as open-heart surgery and neurosurgery is provided by the Denver VA Medical Center. Long-term psychiatric care is provided by the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Cheyenne maintains community-based outpatient clinic in Fort Collins and Greeley, Colo. and a VA contract clinic in Sidney, Neb.
The Department of Defense sharing agreement developed in 1983 between the 90th Medical Group and local facilities has developed into a model of interagency sharing including inpatient, outpatient and special medical services. This sharing agreement has continued to expand including sharing of various services such as radiology, cardiopulmonary, laboratory, gynecology, surgical, intensive care services and other services.
Community programs currently in place include the transitional assistance program and the partners program. TAP allows hospital employees to educate soon-to-be discharged personnel on how to apply for VA benefits. The hospital portion of the briefing includes topics such as how to apply for care and what factors determine eligibility for care after active duty service. The PARDS is exclusively for Veterans Benefits Administration personnel to arrange discharge exams for those wishing to file a disability claim at the Cheyenne VAMC.
